Who created National I Love You Day
On October 28, 2015, a Philippine film maker for a Filipino romantic-drama movie created a hashtag to promote its movie named, Every day I Love You. The movie aired in the Philippines made 16 million pesos (about $850,000 U.S.) on its first day of showing and received generally good reviews. Although the movie did not rise to the level of stardom by U.S. standards, the re-tweeting of the hashtag caught on based upon the name itself. The tweets reached 3 million spanning 62 countries, which demonstrates the power of three simple words: I love you.
In case you are wondering, the movie itself follows a familiar plot, where a young woman, whose fiancé is in a coma, falls in love with another man, leaving her torn between the man of her dreams, and the man who can make her dreams come true.
